KILLER ROBOTS TESTIMONIALS

After performing at the zombie lounge in san diego, the killer robots made their way back to florida. On the way they made a little stop in a small town outside the grand canyon called Williams. The killer robots played an impromptu show at a small outside diner in exchange for free beer and half priced food. This is an account of the evening’s events by one of the town’s citizens.

Copied from The Shaman:

"KILLER ROBOTS !!!"

"Well, then, last night started out simple enough. I didnt go to Flagstaff to see some metal bands with my cousin Hillary, which made me feel like a let down. Instead I opted for relaxing and drawing at the coffee shop, after a hard day of weed whacking and fence building. People watching with Doni is the game, we saw the norms, the town's two punk girls in punk rock pants, hicks, crack heads, tourists, rednecks, and the typical 2000s default gangsta rap kids. However a black man with a fine afro donned in a Henry Rollins shirt walked by, (not normal, hell, any kid here in a 'Rollins' shirt would be out of norm) this was a foreboding of things to come. We gave him our mutual approval, he nodded and smiled."

"Doni and I visited the local coffee roaster afterwards, his place is defiantly the spot!... Rock walls, great acoustics, perfect for a band. Its just the perfect hang out, better than what the Soces did to our beloved coffee shop.”

"Doni's nephew came up and informed us that a band from Florida was going to perform an impromptu show at Cruisers (restaurant). I expected just another boring hick ass band that plays EVERY SINGLE NIGHT."

"But NO, as we rounded the corner on our bikes, I couldn't help but grin, a grin that broke into a full blow smile (those who know me, know I dont smile much). We saw a robot type creature with fists the size of medicine balls lumbering about the sidewalk. Flashing LEDs, various tubing, armor, chains, guitars, and creatures in thongs, we had truly stumbled on something Williams Arizona had never seen before."

"I went back home and got my brother, then went to wake up cousin Neil (who laughed but didnt come). By then they started to play. I thought, Oh my God,
all their talent went into the costumes. That would have been fine by me, but by the second song, they pulled it together and rocked the joint with a fury. It was a mix of Old school punk, Rock, Techno, Dick Dale, Devo, Gwar, They Might be Giants, and Flash Gordon/Godzilla type Sci-fi sound effects... and it worked! They played hard and fast, and it was a welcome change of pace. After the show, we all shook hands and departed. We're pretty sure the guitar player was the guy in the Rollins shirt."

"All of us were grinning the rest of the night, as we were indeed blessed."

We can't wait to rock out Williams again. Special thanks to the staff at Cruisers, The Shaman, Katie our waitress, and everyone we met and helped out with the show. Good times.
